About local-host
A small, independent site about building a better work-from-home desk.
Hi! I'm a software developer based in India, and like a lot of people in tech, my desk at home is also my office. To a programmer, localhost means "this machine, right here", which felt like the right name for a site about the place you actually spend your workday.
I started this site because most "best keyboard" or "best monitor" lists online are written for the US market, recommend products that aren't sold here, or just rank whatever is trending. I wanted guides that explain why a spec matters for long coding sessions, and that stick to things you can actually buy on Amazon.in.
What you'll find here
- Buying guides for keyboards, monitors, chairs, laptop stands, docks and other desk gear.
- Setup advice on ergonomics, cable management and building a workspace that's comfortable for a full day.
- Plain-English explanations of specs like panel types, switch types and USB-C display output.
How I make money
This site is supported through the Amazon Associates programme. When you buy something through a link here, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That never decides what gets recommended. If something isn't worth your money, I'll say so. Details are on the affiliate disclosure page.
